Noise

Quieter Aircraft

Over the last few decades, noise levels have been greatly reduced. The noise generated by a mid-sized aircraft made in the 1980s is as much as 20 decibels lower compared to aircraft of similar dimensions made in the 1960s. To human ears, that represents a reduction of about 25%. Aircraft made in the 2000s generates approximately 40% less noise at takeoff. RJ is planning to modernize its Fleet in the year 2012 with this quieter type of aircraft.
